Animal shelter destroyed by fire getting a donation

The Lynn County Animal Shelter that was destroyed by fire Thursday will get a big donation from the Lubbock Area Foundation. The foundation donate $5,000 to the shelter.

Several animals and medical supplies were lost in the fire. This donation just a start to help re-build.

"I mean five or ten dollars makes a huge difference and just buying a cat bed or a dog bed," said Lubbock Area Foundation President, Sheryl Cates. "Food and those kinds of things are what they need right now. So we are encouraging people everywhere across the South Plains."

In an attempt to generate donations, the shelter started the Baby Gray Fund, named after a kitten that died in the fire. If you would like to help, visit this link.
